Program Description:
The University of Limoges is one of the newest in France, which explains its dynamic and innovative spirit. Through the great diversity of its departments and programs it has become a center of excellence in higher education and training. Limoges houses an internationally recognized research center, which welcomes more than 700 researchers in internationally established disciplines. The well-equipped university and the quality of the economic and cultural life make Limoges a European hub, and an attractive city to study in.

Limoges, France is best known for its medieval enamel art and its porcelain production which boomed in the 19th century. Prior to this date, the area of modern day Limoges was separated into the town of Limoges and the castle of Limoges. The two were not united until 1792. French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir is a native of Limoges.

Before going abroad, you will need to investigate the courses available at potential host institutions. OSU students studying abroad must take at least the equivalent of 12 OSU credit hours during their exchange semester. Please be sure to read the course descriptions provided by the host institution and compare them to your coursework at OSU. 
OSU students studying at Limoges can take courses in French literature and grammar courses, and depending on the student’s fluency, much more! 

Students participating in a reciprocal exchange program must have completed at least 45 credit hours and have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or above at the time they intend to participate.

Visa Information
Students studying for 90 days or more are required to obtain a student visa or residency permit. Please refer to the website of the embassy or consulate to obtain visa information. The French Consulate in Houston has a very helpful guide to student visas
