Program Description:
International Environmental Sociology Brazil 2018
Instructors: Tammy Mix and Duane Gill
Location: Brazil
Courses: SOC 4433 or SOC 6463 - 3 credit hours
Travel Dates: May 25 - June 17, 2018
Course Dates: May 14 - July 6, 2018

Welcome to Paraiba, Brazil! Located in the Northeastern part of Brazil, Paraiba has Atlantic Forest, beautiful beaches, and the unique Caatinga landscape. We begin in Joao Pessoa to consider urban development and explore the city’s beaches and protected Atlantic Forest. From there we travel to Picui to gain insights into agroecology, archeology, and issues related to environmental and social justice. We travel from Picui to Sousa and end our trip in Campina Grande during the start of festival season.

Course Costs:                
Tuition and Fees: $3,250*
     (includes $200 deposit billed at the time of enrollment).
     *Airfare is not included in the tour costs.

The costs include tuition and fees, travel insurance, lodging, most meals, excursions & transportation. The costs do not include flight, passport, and any miscellaneous costs a student might wish to incur.

You can begin your course application, but you will not be able to proceed without an appointment.
