Gerry Auel First Passport Grant
The
Gerry Auel First Passport Grant was established to encourage OSU students to obtain their
first adult US Passport. All OSU undergraduate and graduate students applying for their
first adult US passport may apply for the grant. The fund will reimburse multiple students per academic year the total cost of obtaining their first adult passport. This includes the cost of the passport application, required passport photos, and postage if required as a part of the application.

Eligibility
- Priority is given to undergraduate or graduate students with demonstrated financial need or other challenging personal circumstances preventing them from applying for a Passport
- Applicants must provide proof of a completed application for their first adult US Passport by providing a paper copy of the application. If you have previously applied and received a passport past the age of 18 years old and are now renewing it, you are not eligible for this grant.
- Consideration for the grant is open to all US students at OSU. Applicants are not required to have applied for or be participating in any OSU program abroad.
Award Amounts
- Grant amount will vary depending on actual cost to the student chosen to receive the grant
Note: Prior to receiving the grant, the chosen recipient must provide proof that the passport has been ordered along with copies of ALL receipts for expenses related to the application for reimbursement.
Students who receive significant financial aid should note that the OSU Office of Financial Aid may indicate that they have reached their maximum aid eligibility and are unable to receive additional funds. Students who believe this may apply to them are encouraged to contact the OSU Office of Financial Aid for further guidance.
This grant closes for the currently Calendar Year in early March and applicants moving to the next phase will be notified then. Applications for the subsequent Calendar Year will open in late Summer.
